 It's the last day of September and I thought I'd let it end with a picture of the California border.  There's no place like home.  Yet home is wherever your heart is, and I'm feeling pretty lucky.

Logan Canyon

 One thing on my short-term bucket list was to visit my brother and family in their new home in the Logan Utah area.  They love it and I'm very happy for them.  They live near some beautiful scenery in the canyons.  They took me on a drive through the canyons and then I went for a very short hike through one on my way out of town.  It was so peaceful and beautiful.  The yellow flowers felt like my friends because they kept me company, growing along the roads from California through Nevada, Utah and Idaho. 

 

Mesa Falls

 After leaving Big Springs in a hurry there was a break in the rain and we stopped at Mesa Falls, on the way back to Idaho Falls.  It was beautiful.

 The experience and pictures left-to-show of exploring the great outdoors makes me more happy than I can say.  In August those of us in the family who were able to stay another day went to my Mom's favorite vacation spot, as a way of honoring her - as a way of saying "we were listening and love what you love". 

Even if it did start pouring rain as we ate our picnic lunch!

 

afternoon Autumn commute

 Well, 2 days (and hopefully counting) of our warm autumn weather sure feels good.  Samantha and I stopped at Rockaway Beach on our way home from her work to snap some pictures.
